Why Install a Water Filter in Perth?

Perth’s mains water meets the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines (ADWG) and is safe to drink. A filter is about improving on that baseline: the city’s supply is a blend of groundwater and desalinated seawater carried through a long pipe network, and that affects taste, hardness and what reaches your tap.

Better taste and smell

The Water Corporation chlorinates the supply to keep it safe across long pipelines and through hot weather. Activated carbon filters remove that “swimming pool” taste and odour, leaving clean-tasting water for drinking and cooking.

Less scale from hard water

Around 40% of Perth’s water comes from limestone-rich underground aquifers, making it moderately hard to hard (roughly 75–200 mg/L as calcium carbonate). Scale-reduction systems help protect hot water systems, dishwashers and kettles, and cut down white spotting on shower screens, tiles and tapware.

Gentler on skin and hair

Hard, chlorinated water can strip natural oils from skin and hair. Many people with dry or sensitive skin find filtered shower water more comfortable.

Reduces contaminants and heavy metals

Older plumbing and solder joints can release trace lead or copper into tap water. Multi-stage and reverse osmosis systems add a barrier against these, as well as nitrates, microplastics and trace PFAS.

Saves money and plastic

Filtered water on tap replaces bottled water, which lowers your ongoing costs and keeps single-use plastic out of Western Australian landfill.

Under-Sink Water Filter Systems

Our Quick Change under-sink systems are made in the USA, NSF-tested and WaterMark-approved. Hygienic twist-off cartridges make filter changes quick and clean.

Quick Change Single under-sink filter

An ultra-compact, single-stage system that takes up minimal cupboard space.

  • Stage 1 – Carbon block: 1-micron absolute filtration. Removes cryptosporidium, giardia, heavy metals and chemicals.
  • Twist-off cartridge for easy maintenance
  • 3-year warranty

Quick Change Twin under-sink filter

A two-stage system suited to kitchens with limited under-sink space.

  • Stage 1 – Pre-filter: removes dirt, rust and sediment.
  • Stage 2 – Carbon block: 1-micron absolute filtration. Removes cryptosporidium, giardia, heavy metals and chemicals.
  • Twist-off cartridges for easy maintenance
  • 3-year warranty

Reverse Osmosis Water Purification

The Quick Change Reverse Osmosis system is our most thorough option. It is NSF and WaterMark approved, compact enough for under-sink installation, and wastes less water than earlier reverse osmosis designs.

  • Produces 300+ litres of purified water per day
  • 3-year warranty, including the membrane, when serviced annually
  • Improves taste and odour

What reverse osmosis removes

Aluminium, barium, cadmium, chlorine, chromium, copper, cryptosporidium, cysts, E. coli bacteria, fluoride, giardia, heavy metals, hydrocarbons, iron, lead, manganese, mercury, nitrate, PCBs, potassium, radium, selenium and sodium.

Whole-House Water Filtration

A whole-house system is fitted to your mains supply, reducing sediment, chemicals and scale at every tap, shower and appliance. It is WaterMark-approved.

  • Reduces scale build-up in showers, glass fixtures, dishwashers and washing machines
  • No salt or chemical regenerants required
  • No backwash, so no wasted water
  • 3-year warranty

Water Filter FAQs

Is Perth tap water safe to drink without a filter?

Yes. Perth’s mains water meets the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines. People install filters to remove chlorine taste and odour, reduce scale from hard water, and add protection against trace contaminants from older pipework.

Which water filter is best for a Perth home?

It depends on your goal. An under-sink carbon filter suits most households wanting better-tasting drinking water. Reverse osmosis gives the broadest contaminant reduction. A whole-house system is the choice if scale on appliances and shower screens is your main concern.

How often do water filter cartridges need replacing?

As a guide, cartridges are replaced about every 12 months, depending on your water use and local water quality. Reverse osmosis systems need an annual service to keep the 3-year membrane warranty valid.

Does a water filter remove fluoride?

Standard carbon filters do not. Our reverse osmosis system does remove fluoride, along with a wide range of metals, salts and microorganisms.

Will an under-sink water filter fit in my kitchen?

In most cases, yes. The Quick Change single and twin systems are compact and designed for cupboards with limited space. We check the fit before installation.

Is a whole-house filter the same as a water softener?

No. Our whole-house system reduces scale without salt, chemical regenerants or backwashing, so it uses no extra water and needs less upkeep than a traditional salt-based softener.

What warranty comes with your water filter systems?

All systems carry a 3-year warranty. On reverse osmosis systems this includes the membrane, provided the system is serviced annually.

Can you service or repair a water filter you didn’t install?

Yes. We repair and support existing water filter systems and can replace cartridges. Call us with the make and model and we’ll confirm what’s needed.
